What a mutation is
A mutation is a variant applied to a unit that multiplies its income. The same character with a better mutation earns more per second, which is what the value is really tracking.
Reading the multipliers
Multipliers stack onto the base unit rather than replacing it. A mid-tier unit with a top mutation can beat a top-tier unit with none, which is where most bad trades happen — people compare the character and ignore the mutation.
How you get them
- Random rolls when a unit spawns.
- Event-limited mutations during a live event.
- Rerolls, where available, using in-game currency.
Event-limited mutations keep their value best, because the supply stops growing when the event ends.
Trading mutated units
If the other side will not let you look closely, that is the trade to walk away from.
